Frequently Asked Questions
What is the deal with resident and/or visitor parking?
After working with PV housing on the issue of insufficient visitor parking, we recently succeeded in getting additional visitor parking spots added in several areas throughout the community. Remember, residents can always park in visitor parking. Guests may only park in visitor spots, even if you have registered their license plate numbers. (Also, all guests' plates must be registered.)
I'd like to get some specific cable channel with my cable TV package.
This concern is very common. Email PVRC with your request or tell us about it in one of our public meetings. The cable package was recently updated and many additional channels were added. But it might be possible to get additional channels if there is widespread support for it.
I get very poor cell phone reception. Can anything be done about this?
The distance and terrain between you and the nearest cell tower affects your reception. Different cell phone technologies (GSM and CDMA) use different frequencies, and each frequency has pros and cons.
There are currently three mini cell towers on PV property already, but only service the Sprint network. However, your reception may still vary, even with Sprint service.
For cell phone usage indoors, you may consider a WiFi enabled cell phone. With such a phone, you can make regular calls via your cell phone through a wireless access point. Many residents already have a wireless router for their laptops, and such devices should work. For example, T-Mobile offers WiFi enabled phones, which will work with most wireless routers. Other than the phone, you do not need to sign up for any special service to use the feature. However, T-Mobile is offering an additional feature for about $20 per month, that will allow you to make unlimited calls from home via your WiFi enabled cell phone. PVRC is not recommending nor discouraging the service with T-Mobile. It seems likely that other wireless carriers will offer a similar service soon. If you do use this service, please let us know about it.
The stairwells and/or hallways are very dirty in my building. Why aren't they cleaned?
They are supposed to be cleaned regularly. If you feel they are dirty, call the PV Office at 949-824-8918 or stop by in person and submit a work request for a custodian to clean your building's stairwells and/or hallways. If you have already tried this, and nothing got cleaned, feel free to let us know.
I've noticed one of the laundry machines is broken, not working correctly, or stole my money. What can be done?
You can either call WEB laundry services directly, and report the broken machine, or you can report it to the PV Office at 949-824-8918 or in person. Be sure to tell them the three digit machine ID number, and how much money (if any) it took from you, so that a refund can be given on a credited laundry card. If you are having trouble with this process, or it has been several days without a response, feel free to let us know.
My nearby laundry room is really dirty. What gives?
Laundry room are supposed to be cleaned daily. If you notice they are remaining dirty, call the PV Office at 949-824-8918 or stop by in person and submit a work request for a custodian to clean the specific laundry room (note the building number). If you have already tried this, and nothing got cleaned, feel free to let us know.
